Privacy Policy

The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for marketing without asking.

Who we are

This website is run by BeardyWeb, an independent web design business based in the Norfolk and Suffolk area of the UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), BeardyWeb is the controller of personal information collected through this website.

You can contact us about privacy using the contact form.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:

  • your name and, if you provide it, your business name
  • your email address and, if you provide it, your phone number
  • the service, package and budget you select
  • anything you write in the project details box

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this website. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser's IP address is shared with Google when pages load, as with most websites.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and prepare a quotation. Our lawful basis is your consent (which you give when submitting the form) and, where you go on to become a customer, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Where it's stored

Form submissions are processed and stored by our website hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., which may store data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. Submissions are also passed through automated spam filtering. We don't sell or share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. If you become a customer, we keep project records for as long as reasonably necessary for business and legal purposes, such as accounting.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Just get in touch.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
